Since the company was founded in 1969, VEKA has developed from a small regional business into the world market leader for PVC-U profile systems for windows and doors. Today, the international group of companies has 53 locations including 22 production plants on 4 continents. In 2025, 7,000 employees worldwide generated an annual turnover of 1.5 billion euros. In Sendenhorst alone, the headquarters of the group of companies, 1,400 people are employed.

The success of the company, which is still family-run, is based on uncompromising quality standards that encompass products as well as all company divisions and services. In addition to profile systems for windows, doors and roller shutters as well as PVC-U sheet systems, the Group's portfolio also includes innovative surface finishing technologies and digital window solutions. As a family-owned company, VEKA focuses its activities on long-term development, ensuring the company remains competitive for future generations.

Resource conservation and the circular economy at VEKA

VEKA takes sustainability into account throughout the entire life cycle of a window profile. Right from the manufacturing stage, the focus is on the efficient use of energy, water and materials, as well as the continuous optimisation of production processes. For example, electricity from renewable sources and surface water from the company’s own biotope at its main site are utilised. Every year, over 100,000 m³ of surface water is collected for this purpose, biologically treated and fed back into the production cooling circuit.

With the establishment of VEKA Umwelttechnik GmbH as early as 1993, VEKA created the infrastructure for recycling end-of-life PVC windows. Old windows and production offcuts are processed at recycling plants in Germany, France and the UK. The PVC recyclate obtained from this is used to manufacture new window profiles.
To support the future recyclability of its products, VEKA develops its profile systems in accordance with the ‘Design for Recycling’ guideline. The return of material from various stages of a window’s life cycle into production helps to reduce the demand for virgin material. Furthermore, thanks to their good thermal insulation properties, modern PVC windows can help to reduce the energy consumption of buildings compared with older generations of windows.
