From the components to the quality-assured system

Based on a holistic approach to quality, quality assurance according to RAL GZ-716 covers the entire PVC window system, from the raw material to the end product. In addition to the profile, it encompasses all components that are installed in the PVC window, such as reinforcements, connectors, gaskets and cover profiles. Components such as gaskets and decorative films are also part of the system. As a result, requirements throughout the entire value chain are considered within the quality assurance framework. This enables the evaluation of interactions between individual components and system elements. The objective is to verify compliance with the applicable Quality and Test Requirements and to provide fabricators with a window system that has been assessed in accordance with these requirements.

Four quality associations – one common product

Four quality associations contribute to a finished RAL PVC window. As the Gütegemeinschaft Kunststoff-Fensterprofilsysteme, it is our role is to assess the fundamental suitability of the window system, including its components, against defined Quality and Test Requirements. The quality of the insulating glass used in the finished window is monitored by the Gütegemeinschaft Flachglas/Troisdorf, that of the fittings by the Gütegemeinschaft Schlösser und Beschläge/Velbert. Quality assurance of the PVC window as an end product together with assembly is the responsibility of the Gütegemeinschaft Fenster, Fassaden und Haustüren/Franktfurt. RAL quality marks serve as a guide when selecting products and suppliers.
